Nothing to Lose

Because there is nothing to cling on

Tree of Life as the Caduceus of Mercury

Image from “The Book of Thoth” by Aleister Crowley (1944)

Each number corresponds to a planet/god e.g. 8 is Mercury, 7 is Venus etc.

The serpents represent the Ida and Pingala nadis, while the shaft/wand is Sushumna.

29 is ䷜ 坎 (kǎn), the "Abyss", "Gorge" the fission while

30 is ䷝ 離 (lí), the "Veil", "Radiance" or "the clinging, fire" and "the net" the ionisation process

"Entre Capricorne et Cancer

Des points entourés d’eau des îles"

䷜29 is named 坎 (kǎn), "Gorge" or "the abyss" (in the oceanographic sense) and "repeated entrapment".

• Its inner (lower) trigram is ☵ (坎 kǎn) gorge = (水) water,
• its outer (upper) trigram is identical

It may well be the true nature of the entrapment, the localisation, the chthonian dharma and the relevant karma — that result from the ionisation process (䷝ 離 lí 30) — but it is also the break by which the cosmic consciousness leaks through and when the conditions become proper and adequate, pours (Arcana Major XVII).

Duality — twinning (Jean-Jacques/ Pierre & Paul) — and singularity

• September 29 is the 272nd day of the year (273rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar; 93 days remain until the end of the year. The feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. • Star𐤟ting from the 1st of the 9th, a journey that expands from 坤* the 2nd to 坎 the 29th (29) day at which it touches the imaginary line between Cancer and Capricorn. A crucial passage, a 無門關.

"Each soul is a portion of the Divine and that portion is the psychic or soul force which seeks expression. In the material plane, there are expressions of beauty, love, patience, hope, and long-suffering, which are the attributes of the psychic forces or soul forces in this material plane." ECRL 531-7

Terence McKenna — the Witoto tribe — by Fabrizio Cassetta

"But the thing about tryptamines is they cannot be taken orally because they're denatured by an enzyme found naturally in the human gut called monoamine oxidase. They can only be taken orally if taken in conjunction with some other chemical that denatures the MAO.

The fascinating things are that the beta-carbolines found within that liana are MAO inhibitors of the precise sort necessary to potentiate the tryptamine.

So you ask yourself a question:

How, in a flora of 80,000 species of vascular plants, do these people find these two morphologically unrelated plants that when combined in this way, create a kind of biochemical version of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts?

Well, we use that great euphemism, "trial and error," which is exposed to be meaningless. But you ask the Indians, and they say "The plants talk to us."

Well, what does that mean? This tribe, the Cofan, has 17 varieties of ayahuasca, all of which they distinguish a great distance in the forest, all of which are referable to our eye as one species.

And then you ask them how they establish their taxonomy and they say, "I thought you knew something about plants. I mean, don't you know anything?" And I said, "No."

Well, it turns out you take each of the 17 varieties on the night of a full moon, and it sings to you in a different key. Now, that's not going to get you a PhD at Harvard, but it is much more interesting than counting stamens."
