MEMENTO MORI

Mosaic from Pompeii  (I, 5, 2)
National Archaeological Museum, Naples

Roman mosaic depicting the Wheel of Fortune which — as it turns — can make the rich (symbolized by the purple cloth on the left) poor and the poor (symbolized by the goatskin on the right) rich. Certainly, both states are very precarious, with death never far and life hanging by a thread: when it breaks, the soul (symbolized by the butterfly) flies off. And thus are all made equal.

First Quarter

Illumination: 56%

On October 3 the Moon is 7.92 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases. The Moon's current phase for today and tonight is a First Quarter phase. This phase occurs roughly 7 days after the New Moon when the moon is one-quarter of the way through its orbit around the earth. Precisely half the moon will be illuminated and half dark. On the day of the First Quarter phase, the moon is high overhead at sunset and is visible until midnight when it sets in the west. The First Quarter phase is a one-day event and in the following days, a Waxing Gibbous phase becomes more illuminated each day until the Full Moon.

Phase Details For - October 3

Losing Sight of self

Whatever was is no more
The present knowledge is based on a total absence of knowledge
Parenting and scholarly education amount to alienation
Nothing anymore flows from the source
Until I return

"So with Happiness.

Only when one has lost sight of self,

in the appreciation of the love, beauty and hope

in the Creative Forces and their activity,

may one indeed know Happiness."

Embraced & Owned XIII

སྒྲོལ་མ
तारा पद्मासन, Tārā padmāsana / Dölmalotus
  • Upon birth and within the first and half year — gradually giving way to the creation of an ego that will pilot the local experience — the natural life force and the prior and inherent knowledge attached to it are coiled and stocked in a deposit account physiologically located somewhere between the first (lowest) and second nervous plexuses — a retirement saving account of sorts.
  • Thence is the procreation stage that lasts until the turning point @ 49 ䷰ 革 ㄍㄜˊ the revolution.
  • @ that point — &/or after 50 ䷱ 鼎 ㄉㄧㄥˇ where stands the philosopher's (Andor, thief-turn-rebel) caldron — begins the recreation — the recess — as one returns.
  • This last phase must be acknowledged, accepted and embraced  ䷵ 歸妹 ㄍㄨㄟ ㄇㄟˋ 54  as no one can work out anything with the methods and tools used during the procreation period. It is no more a time of generation, but more a period of reverse engineering and eventually, destruction. The time is no longer dedicated to the production 生 or harvest 收 but to abandon and forsaking. Any clinging on — ䷝ 離 ㄌㄧˊ 30  — regrets, becomes a hindrance.
  • Once the acceptance is achieved, starts the re-alignment. The signal is given by the free spirit — ䷼ 中孚 ㄓㄨㄥ ㄈㄨˊ 61 — processed by the modem of the soul, but in the end, must be fully integrated by each and every organ and all the circuitries of the human system — ䷽ 小過ㄒㄧㄠˇ ㄍㄨㄛˋ 62. Only then does the power rise — release of the कुण्डलिनी kuṇḍalinī.
  • In the end, the ultimate goal is to reach the point of no return — with no intention or fake, illusory reasons, whatsoever, to come back — to cross the Rubicon i.e.䷾ 既濟 ㄐㄧˋ ㄐㄧˋ 63, passing the rubēdō,  the "reddening" process, the fourth and final major stage of the alchemical magnum opus.

कुण्डलिनी
kuṇḍalinī

A natural process that realigns the three multi-levelled vibrations once the turning point as the point of no return is reached. This occurs once one is seeing clearly through one's and anyone's own self-created illusions. The correct impulse is given by the spirit, the correct tempo (bon tempi) by the mind and the first alignments are provided by the different organs and the nervous systems of the body — reverse engineering as well as resuscitation — according to a geolocation of the many nodes along the meridians.

心經

The Sanskrit Heart Sutra collected by Pelliot is now in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

The Heart sutra
(प्रज्ञापारमिताहृदय Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya)
and its similarities with
第十二章,
道德經。

五色令人盲目,
五音令人耳聾,
五味令人口爽,
馳騁畋獵令人心發狂,
難得之貨令人行妨。
是以聖人為腹不為目,
故去彼取此。

Chapter 12,
Dao De Jing English version by Chang Chung-yuan, 1975
[張錘元 Zhang Zhongyuan, 1907-1988]

12

Numerous colours make man sightless.
Numerous sounds make man unable to hear.
Numerous tastes make man tasteless.
Racing and pursuing game make man's heart violent.
Valuing rare things makes man worry about their safety.
Therefore, the wise concentrates on the belly and not on the temptations of the senses.
Thus, he abides in the one and foregoes the other.

**************

In the (प्रज्ञापारमिताहृदय Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya sutra, अवलोकितेश्वराने Avalokiteśvara addresses शरीपुत्राला Śariputra, explaining the fundamental emptiness (शून्यता śūnyatā) of all phenomena, known through and as the five aggregates of human existence.

Prajnyaapaaramitaa Hridaya by Ouyang Xun

When Bodhisattva अवलोकितेश्वराने Avalokiteshvara was practising the profound Perfection of the Wisdom (प्रज्ञा पारमिता prajñā parāmitā), he illuminated the Five Appearances (स्कंध skandha). He saw that they are all empty (शून्य shunya), and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty.

शारिपुत्र Shāriputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So too are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness.

शारिपुत्र Shāriputra, all teachings (धर्म dharma) are empty of characteristics. They are not produced, not destroyed, not defiled, not pure; and they neither increase nor diminish. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, cognition, formation, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sights, sounds, smells, tastes, objects of touch, or dharmas; no field of the eyes up to and including no field of mind consciousness; and no ignorance or ending of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death or ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, no accumulating, no extinction, no Way, no understanding, and no attaining.

Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva through reliance on prajñā parāmitā is unimpeded in his mind. Because there is no impediment, he is not afraid and leaves distorted dream-thinking far behind. Ultimately Nirvana! All Buddhas of the three periods of time attain अनुत्तरा-सम्यक-सम्बोधि: anuttarā-samyak-sambodhi through reliance on prajñā parāmitā. Therefore know that prajñā parāmitā is a Great Spiritual Mantra, a Great Bright Mantra, a Supreme Mantra, an Unequalled Mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false. That is why the Mantra of Prajna Paramita was spoken. Recite it like this: Gaté Gaté Paragaté Parasamgaté. Bodhi Svaha!

"For these temporal things must pass away,

but that spiritual house, that temple

— that cleanliness so akin to godliness —

is that which lives on and on."

Edgar Cayce reading 262-109

“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite.

For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.”

― William Blake, The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: In Full Color

William Blake. Two scholars copied "Proverbs of Hell" from the devil's scroll.

The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, copy I, 1827, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, England.

The world had a beginning

And this beginning could be the mother of the world.

When you know the mother

Go on to know the child.

After you have known the child

Go back to holding fast to the mother,

And to the end of your days, you will not meet with danger.

Block the openings,

Shut the doors,

And all your life you will not run dry.

Unblock the openings,

Add to your troubles,

And to the end of your days, you will be beyond salvation.

To see the small is called discernment;

To hold fast to the submissive is called strength.

Use the light

But give up the discernment.

Bring not misfortune upon yourself.

This is known as following the constant.

Dao De Jing II. 52
