"Enter into meditation in the early hours of the morning, when the world at large is quiet — when the music of the spheres and the morning stars sing for the glory of the coming day — and ask the soul; and let the spirit of self answer." ECRL 440-4 《道德經》第四十七章 不出戶知天下;不闚牖見天道。 其出彌遠,其知彌少。 是以聖人不行而知,不見而名,不為而成。 道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — C. Ganson 47 One can know the world without leaving the house. One can see Dao without looking out the window. The more you study the less you know. Thus the truly wise know without travelling, perceive without seeing, achieve without doing. 道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — James Legge 47 (Surveying what is far-off) Without going outside his door, one understands (all that takes place) under the sky; without looking out from his window, one sees the Dao of Heaven. The farther that one goes out (from himself), the less he knows. Therefore the sages got their knowledge without travelling; gave their (right) names to things without seeing them; and accomplished their ends without any purpose of doing so. 道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — Arthur Waley 47 Without leaving his door He knows everything under heaven. Without looking out of his window He knows all the ways of heaven. For the further one travels The less one knows. Therefore the Sage arrives without going, Sees all without looking, Does nothing, yet achieves everything. |
