1. Fire signal and beacon

Calling for help"See! The beacons of Gondor are alight, calling for aid. War is kindled. See, there is the fire on Amon Dîn, and flame on Eilenach; and there they go speeding west: Nardol, Erelas, Min-Rimmon, Calenhad, and the Halifirien on the borders of Rohan."
Gandalf, in The Return of the King

Classically, beacons were fires lit at well-known locations on hills or high places, used either as lighthouses for navigation at sea, or for signalling over land that enemy troops were approaching, in order to alert defences. As signals, beacons are an ancient form of the optical telegraph and were part of a relay league.

Systems of this kind have existed for centuries over much of the world. The ancient Greeks called them phryctoriae, while beacons figure on several occasions on the column of Trajan.

In ancient China, sentinels on and near the Great Wall of China used a sophisticated system of daytime smoke and nighttime flame to send signals along long chains of beacon towers.

πυρσεία was an ingenious method for visual message transmission between mountains which were at a distance of up to 100 km. It was based on a combination of fire signals, invented by Κλεόξενος (Kleoxenos) and Δημόκλειτος (Dimokleitos), in the 3rd century B.C. This system may be described as digital (quinary of 2bits) a precursor of today's technology and the only registered attempt of this kind in the world until the 16th century A.D. This relatively simple use of fire signals in connection with a network of beacons, first conceived by Pallamedes, was the means through which the fall of Troy was made known to Mycenae in one night (by Pallamedes's assistant Sinon) (Source: Aeschylus, "Agamemnon").

Beacons were built on carefully chosen mountains. Each beacon consisted of two walls at the height of a man with 5 torch holders each, which made it possible to put up 1 to 5 lit torches on each wall at a time.

Between the two walls, there were special binoculars so that the beacon "receiver" operator could distinguish the right firelights from the left ones at the opposite "transmitting" mountain beacon. Moreover, both beacon operators had at their disposal 5 plates with the letters of the alphabet inscribed on them, divided into sets of five. The firelights on the left-hand side of the "transmitter's" beacon determined the plate number which had the desired transmitted letter (1 bale-fire put up: the 1st plate was indicated, and so on). The firelights on the right-hand side referred to the desired transmitted letter on that specific plate. (1 torch put up: the first letter was indicated, and so on). The transmission of a message started as follows: the "transmitter" put up two torches and the "receiver" confirmed by doing the same and then both operators brought down the torches. Then, for instance, if two torches were put up on the left wall and four on the right wall, this corresponded to the transmission of the letter "I". The letters of the Greek alphabet were listed on a table. Each letter corresponded to a row and a column on the table. By using two groups of torches (five torches in every group), the left indicating the row and the right the column of the table, they could send a message by defining a specific letter through a combination of light torches.

The coding system was as follows:

12345
1ΑΒΓΔΕ
2ΖΗΘΙΚ
3ΛΜΝΞΟ
4ΠΡΣΤΥ
5ΦΧΨΩ

When they wanted to send the letter O (omicron), they fired five torches on the right set and three torches on the left set (see Polybius square).

  • Or when the Prime Energy 常道 is met with a locale resilient resistance (stubbornness) misused and kept inside the earth-body as angst² till 一 under pressure 一 it erupts (the ire of the fire)
  • As nouns, the difference between angst and ire

is that angst is an emotional turmoil; a painful sadness while ire is iron (Fe/26)° or ire that can be (literary|poetic) great anger; wrath; keen resentment.
  • As verbs, the difference between angst and ire

is that angst is (informal) to suffer angst; to fret while ire is to anger; to fret; to irritate.
  • Presence of an inflammatory state as the entropyresulting from the inner resistance to the ceaseless incoming of the Prime NRG is dispersed through the secondary and third Nāḍī नाडी.

  • Resistance is an alteration of the resonance. Resonance occurs when a system is able to store and easily transfer energy between two or more different storage modes (such as kinetic energy and potential energy in the case of a simple pendulum). However, there are some losses from cycle to cycle, called damping. The resonant frequency is purely determined by the capacitor having exactly the opposite reactance of the inductor at a particular frequency and the two reactances cancel leaving the series tuned circuit having only resistance at resonance. However, with lower values of resistance, the peak shape of the resonance will change but the centre point of the peak will remain as previously valued (cf. R.A.M. & the Inspec last meeting).
Small periodic forces that are near a resonant frequency of a system have the ability to produce large amplitude oscillations in that system due to the storage of vibrational energy the energy in a vibrating system, otherwise at rest; especially that in a molecule due to the vibrations of its atoms 一 as for instance in humans that are made up of literally nothing more than vibrating energy 一 being made of cells, which are made of atoms, which are made of particles, and those so-called particles are actually just vibrating energy.
  • Returning to the natural, original resonance through attunement.
  • Attunement is an essential mechanism in all healthy forms of human relating to the cosmic self. It is a process that involves the cultivation of a receptive stance, a state of openness through which one comes to understand the intentions that arise within her/him and in those around them. Attunement also helps to respond to these various intentions with understanding, empathy, and care. Such capacities first form in early life, as a caregiver’s sensitive and contingent responses to the child’s emotional expressions allow for both the intersubjective sharing of feeling, motivation and interest.
  • A variety of cultural spiritual practices throughout the world’s spiritual traditions have included the use of an energy force originating from what might be referred to as Spirit. The teachings and use of these spiritual energies are understood differently within each tradition and cultural context. Generally, spiritual energy called upon and received by a skilled practitioner has been the source of healing and spiritual awakening for aeons, oftentimes transmitted from a master to initiate, disciples, or persons suffering from dis-ease. Specific to traditions within varying cultural groups, there are usually spiritual masters of some kind who are known and recognized by the community. Among these spiritual masters are indigenous shamans and healers, गुरु Hindu gurus of India, 氣功大師 Qi-gong masters and 道士 Daoist priests of China, to name a few. Laszlo, a systems theorist, in 2009 endorses the theory that there is a universal interconnecting field, suggesting that this field has been accessed by shamans and mystics throughout the ages. He described this field as a biofield that extends beyond the body and into the environment, transcending time and space, holding memory, and influencing evolution.‘‘Through quantum effects, cells create a coherent field of information throughout the body. This ‘biofield’ supplements the ordinary flow of information with the multidimensional quasi-instant information needed to ensure the coordinated functioning of the whole organism’’ (Laszlo, 2009, p. 246). This is the field in which spiritual resonance occurs.
  • Anderson (2000) was the first to present the concept of sympathetic resonance within the context of transpersonal research giving the analogy that when a cello string is played on one side of the room, the same string of a cello on the opposite side of the room will begin to vibrate, producing a sound in resonance with the original string. As one strikes a musical note from a distance, the vibration travels.‘‘The resonance communicates and connects directly and immediately without intermediaries (except for air and space)’’ (Anderson, 2000, p. 33). This is the principle of resonance.
  • The concept of sympathetic resonance can be defined as ‘‘a vibratory phenomenon produced by the reflective merging created when energy (pulsation) moves between two or more bodies, entities. Spiritual resonance is harmonizing and aligning with the frequency of the energy pattern of expanded consciousness, beyond ego identification, in the attunement between "I-there" and the individual. Attuning to ourselves within mindful states, we have the observing and experiencing self in resonance. This alignment fosters an expanded awareness that represents a nonspecific state of consciousness in which boundaries diffuse, ego identification is diminished, and a cosmic interconnectedness to all things can be experienced. It indicates the existence of an attainable level of consciousness that is transpersonal, beyond the egoic mind.
