Away  and how far to go before being wise?

?
"Mother Nature's Son"

"Nature Boy"

There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far
Very far
Over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he

And then one day
A magic day he passed my way
And while we spoke of many things
Fools and kings
This he said to me
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return"

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return"
Lyrics, music by George Alexander Aberle, known as eden ahbez
— performed by Nathaniel Adams Coles, known professionally as Nat King Cole

《道德經》第四十七章

不出戶知天下
不闚牖見天道
其出彌遠其知彌少
是以聖人不行而知
不見而名
不為而成.

The Subtle Knife, John Lawrence

道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — Ronald Hogan

47.

You don't have to leave your room
to understand what's happening in the world.

You don't have to look out the window
to appreciate the beauty of heaven.

The farther you wander,
the less you know.

The Masters don't wander around
They know.
They don't just look.
They understand.
They don't do anything,
but the work gets done.

道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — Translated by 張中元Chung-Yuan Chang

Chapter 47

"Without going out of the gate,
One is aware of the world.
Without peering outside,
One sees the way of heaven.
The farther away one is,
The less one is aware.
Therefore, the wise is aware of all things
Without moving a step.
He identifies all things
Without looking at them.
He completes all things
Without action."

道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty-seven — Translated by 陳天聰 Tien Cong Tran

Chapter 47

"Without going out of your door, you are aware of the world.
Without looking out of your window, you see the Way of Heaven.
The farther one goes, the less one knows.
Thus, the sage knows without going out, sees without looking, and achieves without doing."
