道德經第四十章
反者道之動
弱者道之用
天下萬物生於有
有生於無。
Dao De Jing Chapter Forty — Ronald Hogan
40.
道 is always heading
back to where it came from.
道 advances by not pressing forward.
Things exist because they are.
They are because they once were not.
道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty translated by James Legge, 1891,
Chapter 40 — Dispensing with the use (of means)
"The movement of the 道
By contraries proceeds;
And weakness marks the course
Of 道 mighty deeds.
All things under heaven sprang from It as existing and named.
That existence sprang from It as non-existent and not named."
道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty translated by Ellen Marie Chen, 1989,
Chapter 40
"反 Returning is 動 the movement of 道
弱 Weak is 用 the functioning of 道
Ten thousand things under heaven are born of 有 being
Being is born of 無 non-being."
道德經 Dao De Jing Chapter Forty translated by 楊曉林 Xiaolin Yang,
Chapter 40
"Cycling is how 道 moves;
The weak is where 道 functions.
Everything comes from existence;
Existence comes from nothingness."
